Guardians of Middle-earth to Debut at E3

If you’ve been waiting patiently for a proper RPG treatment of the Lord of the Rings franchise, then prepare yourself to … continue to wait. Monolith Studios has announced that its new Lord of the Rings game will be shown at this year’s E3 but it’s not exactly what one might expect fom this property.

Guardians of Middle Earth will be a 5 on 5 online battle arena style game. According to Monolith Studios, there will be over twenty playable characters to choose from such as Gandalf, Gollum and Legolas. There’s been no word yet whether or not Farmer Maggot will be available at launch but we can keep our fingers crossed.
