Gambrinous a Dublin, Ireland based indie studio, led by Led by Colm Larkin and Fred Mangan has announced the ultimate edition of Guild of Dungeoneering. This announcement was made on Saturday at the Guerrilla Collective digital games festival. Gambrinous is known for Guild of Dungeoneering and Cardpocalypse, games that are heavily inspired by classic 1980s and 90s tabletop RPGs.
Let’s take a look at all this card based dungeoneering,
The title is a turn based dungeon crawler, but Guild of Dungeoneering Ultimate Edition is a tad different. Instead of like the usual games where you play as a hero venturing into a dungeon, you play as the dungeon setting up rooms, enemies, traps and the all important, loot.
Colm Larkin, one of the founders says this of the game,
Starting as a game jam entry in 2013, it’s a miracle the original Guild of Dungeoneering is as good as it is! Ultimate Edition is our chance to delve back into the dungeon – armed with everything we know now – and make the game truly shine. We’ve fully rebuilt Guild of Dungeoneering in a new engine, tweaked and rebalanced every system and then added a whole load of new content to top it off
If you’re looking forward to this game you won’t have to wait long, Guild of Dungeoneering Ultimate Edition is set to release sometime in 2021.
