How are you enjoying Halo 4? Although Master Chief’s latest adventure featured him against a new race of enemies, featured new weapons, maps and a fantastic new multiplayer element. However, any ‘real’ Halo-fan would know that Halo 2’s multiplayer mode is the place to be, sadly that will come to an end when it is shut down mid-February after being active for more than five years.

The games peak user count recently hit 20 users… which may explain why 343 Industries has announced that the game is going to be turned off.

This isn’t a quick decision however, the company has been monitoring the games stats for “months” and although the Halo 2 only runs on Vista, there are a small group of gamers who are still active on the service.

Are you disappointed to see support for Halo 2 discontinued? How long should an online mode be supported? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
