Haohmaru Releases March 31st For SoulCalibur VI

Next week, the Samurai Shodown guest fighter enters the stage of history

SoulCalibur VI is well on the way to its next DLC character to arrive sooner than you think. He’s the second of four DLC characters in this pack, the first being returning character Hilde. Two more characters are to come soon, but have not been revealed yet.

Haohmaru also comes with a stage from his home series and remixed music. The next content update also includes additional items to customize characters, themed after another Samurai Shodown character, this time being Nakoruru.

Haohmaru’s Legacy

Haohmaru’s first appearance in an SNK title would be the original Samurai Shodown (pictured below), released in 1993 on Neo Geo. He would become a series mainstay from then on, appearing in every Samurai Shodown title since then, spanning over 20 main-series titles and spinoffs.

The iconic samurai’s jump to SoulCalibur VI is not his first appearance in a game that isn’t his home series, either. Haohmaru’s taken his sword and traveled to a few other SNK titles, such as Capcom vs. SNK and Neo Geo Battle Coliseum.

Haohmaru’s also made his appearance in several mobile games produced by SNK and other companies, such as King of Fighters ’98 Ultimate Match Online and GungHo Online Entertainment’s Puzzle and Dragons.

That all led up to this point, where he’ll cross swords with the likes of iconic SoulCalibur characters like Mitsurugi, Siegfried, and Nightmare, for example. Haohmaru releases March 31st in SoulCalibur VI, and players will be able to purchase him either standalone, or in Season Pass 2.
