According to Anime News Network, the second season of The Heroic Legend of Arslan will be premiering this July.
The original story was a novel series written by Yoshiki Tanaka and first published in the 1980s. The manga adaption is by Hiromu Arakawa and was originally published in the 1990s. The Heroic Legend of Arslan has also sparked a couple video games that lets players experience the harsh battles and strife in the Pars kingdom.
The first season’s story revolves around the kingdom of Pars and the prince, Arslan, who lacks the fierce iron fist his father ruled with. The king falls into the plot his trusted comrades created as the entire country of Pars sinks into a war with the neighboring kingdom. Arslan is able to escape but he now needs to go on a quest to reclaim the lost realm of Pars and succumb to his fate of becoming king.
The new season will have a new name: Arslan Senkii: Fujin Ranbu, or The Heroic Legend of Arslan: Storm Dance. Storm Dance will feature the same cast as the previous season. FUNimation has the rights for the first season and you can catch up on the action-packed fantasy here. FUNimation has not announced if they will also be simulcasting the second season, but it is likely.
