Hitman Launches March 11 with Three Locations

Agent 47 in Hitman

Hitman was recently delayed until sometime in March of 2016, citing that they needed more time to develop missions for launch and tighten the release schedule. Well, now there are concrete details on everything from what will be available at launch to when exactly the game will be released, as well as what the post-launch content schedule looks like. Below cites the entire release schedule with some surprising details.

As reported previously, rumors had circulated from an Amazon listing that the game would launch with seven missions, but it seems like it is actually less than rumored. It looks like the weekly hits and contracts will be akin to how Destiny was structured with dailies and bounties that kept players repeating content. The maps for Hitman have been shown to be fairly large though, and the opportunity to have a unique experience each replay is extremely likely.

What is great is the way the post-release schedule looks. A new location every month for three months sounds like they definitely did some tightening of their schedule as promised. Unfortunately, the team doesn’t cite a specific amount of missions for the locations but presumably it would be six missions for three locations, just as it is for the launch content. The other interesting set-up is the pricing structure which allows for users to try out the game before committing to the entire three month post-launch content. Even if you buy the full game after trying it out, you’ve only spent an extra $5 which is a good way to entice people to at least try it out first.

Hitman launches on March 11, 2016 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
