Howard Stark Will Return For Agent Carter TV Series

ABC’s next Marvel TV series will be Agent Carter, based off the character of Peggy Carter from Captain America: The First Avenger. It will take place soon after the disappearance of Captain America and the forming of SHIELD. While the short that inspired the TV series gave hints of returning characters, it’s now confirmed that Dominic Cooper will be returning for the role of Howard Stark. It’s still not confirmed if Stark will be a regular character or just a cameo. Of course, Hayley Atwell will be reprising the role of Peggy while other cast members will include Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj, Shea Whigham, and James D’Arcy. Not a big surprise that Cooper is returning for the role as it seems like an integral part for forming the past world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The series will premiere midseason in early 2015. Check out the press release below for the plot summary:

“Marvel’s Agent Carter,” starring Captain America’s Hayley Atwell, follows the story of Peggy Carter. It’s 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life–Steve Rogers. Inspired by the feature films “Captain America: The First Avenger” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” along with the short “Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter.”
