It was rumored a little while ago that Inside would be coming to the PS4. The trophy list for the game had appeared on exophase and rumors were aplenty that it would release in late August. Now PlayStation has confirmed that Playdead’s follow-up to Limbo will make its way onto the PS4. The game will be released on August 23rd, 2016.

Inside follows the same sort of gameplay as Limbo, the studio’s critically acclaimed predecessor to Inside. Players maneuver through environments, solve puzzles and delve deeper into the game’s story. It’s a game filled with darkness and horror, not completely different from Limbo. Having already been released on the Xbox One and PC, it makes sense that the game would make its way to PS4 eventually. Despite seemingly being a console-exclusive for Xbox One, the game has received unanimous praise and the install base on PS4 is still far greater than the Xbox One.
We reviewed Inside and stated that it “provides an atmospheric puzzler not many could have dreamt up.” I haven’t got a chance to play the game yet, but now that it is coming to PS4 I will definitely be getting it to find out just how crazy the story gets.
