According to “people familiar with Apple’s plans,” Apple plans on holding an iPad-focused event on October 22.
AllThingsD reports that, while we’re expected to see the latest updates in the iPad line, specifically the 5th-generation iPad and the rumored iPad Mini that will come equipped with a Retina display. Design-wise, the 5th-gen iPad is expected to have a design akin to the iPad Mini, as well as some form of the iPhone 5S’ A7 (A7X, maybe?) processor and an improved camera. We’ll have to wait and see whether it will incorporate the iPhone 5S’ Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
As for the iPad Mini, the latest update in the line will reportedly pack a Retina display, as well as an A7 processor. Unfortunately, sources didn’t provide a location for the event, though it’s of note that the alleged date is the same day that Nokia plans on unveiling its tablet, as well as Microsoft’s Surface 2’s first day of availability in the United States.
