No Iron Man 4 According to Robert Downey Jr.

<p>If you&&num;8217&semi;ve familiarized yourself with Marvel Studios&&num;8217&semi; plans for the next four years&comma; this shouldn&&num;8217&semi;t come as a huge surprise though now it appears semi-official&period; Though he will appear in <em><strong>Avengers&colon; Age of Ultron<&sol;strong><&sol;em> and most likely <em><strong>Avengers 3<&sol;strong><&sol;em>&comma; <em><strong>Iron Man<&sol;strong><&sol;em> won&&num;8217&semi;t be getting a fourth installment any time soon&period; <strong>Robert Downey Jr&period;<&sol;strong> confirmed this in an interview with Variety&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<blockquote><p>There isn’t one in the pipe&period; No&comma; there’s no plan for a fourth &OpenCurlyQuote;Iron Man&period;’<&sol;p><&sol;blockquote>&NewLine;<p>Marvel Studios&&num;8217&semi; next films will include <em><strong>Avengers&colon; Age of Ultron<&sol;strong><&sol;em> &lpar;2015&rpar;&comma; <em><strong>Ant Man<&sol;strong><&sol;em> &lpar;2015&rpar;&comma; <em><strong>Captain America 3<&sol;strong><&sol;em> &lpar;2016&rpar; and <em><strong>Guardians of the Galaxy 2<&sol;strong><&sol;em> &lpar;2017&rpar;&period; <em><strong>Doctor Strange <&sol;strong><&sol;em>and<em><strong> Thor 3<&sol;strong><&sol;em> should have release dates soon as well&period; With so many films currently in the pipeline&comma; it&&num;8217&semi;s so crowded that an <em><strong>Iron Man<&sol;strong><&sol;em> sequel just doesn&&num;8217&semi;t seem in the works for the near future&period; It&&num;8217&semi;s all part of a push to focus on more new characters according to <strong>Kevin Feige<&sol;strong>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<blockquote><p>I don’t know that we’ll keep to &lbrack;that model&rsqb; every year&comma; but what we’re doing this year &lbrack;in 2014&rsqb; and what we’re doing next year is&colon; existing franchise&comma; new franchise&comma; existing franchise&comma; new franchise&period; So I think it would be fun to continue that sort of thing&period; I don’t know that we will &lbrack;do that&rsqb; all the time&comma; but as a general model&comma; I think that would be fun&period;<&sol;p><&sol;blockquote>&NewLine;<p>At this rate it appears that a future <em><strong>Iron Man<&sol;strong><&sol;em> movie will be very far out and that RDJ will most likely be replaced by a new actor&period; What did Downey think about that&quest;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<blockquote><p>I like that the idea is that it would be up to me&comma; like I’m casting director for Marvel&period;<&sol;p><&sol;blockquote>&NewLine;<p>Source&colon; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;variety&period;com&sol;2014&sol;film&sol;news&sol;robert-downey-jr-talks-iron-man-4-1201299776&sol;">Variety<&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;
