Iwata Speaks Out On Why Nintendo Won’t Release Its Titles On Other Consoles

Both industry experts and fans of that little internet have been crying out to Nintendo to stop their work as a console manufacturer and just become release their games for every platform going and it seems that the message has made its way all the way up to CEO Satoru Iwata who has spoken to CVG regarding the matter.

“If I was to take responsibility for the company for just the next one or two years, and if I was not concerned about the long-term future of Nintendo at all, it might make sense for us to provide our important franchises for other platforms, and then we might be able to gain some short-term profit. However, I’m really responsible for the long-term future of Nintendo as well, so I would never think about providing our precious resources for other platforms at all.”

The only official game (or more so an app) which Nintendo have released is a Pokedex on Apple’s iTunes store. Do you believe that Nintendo should just focus on software? Let us know over at our Facebook page!
