So it’s been two X-Men films with James McAvoy in the role of Professor Xavier and he still had hair and working legs. They even set him up for the iconic traits in First Class and then pulled back for Days of Future Past. But the young actor can’t keep running from the chrome-dome design much longer. According to McAvoy, his portrayal of Professor Xavier will be bald in the next X-Men movie, X-Men Apocalypse. He doesn’t know much else about the production at this point except for the the shaved head as he revealed to The Huffington Post.
I have no idea what’s going on. I think I’m losing my hair finally. And in the movie. And, yeah, that’s kind of all I know. I got an email from the Simon Kinberg, our producer/writer extraordinare, who informed me he was getting dead excited about stuff, but he didn’t want to divulge anything for a couple of weeks, so I really don’t know. But It seems fairly global, if we’re talking apocalypse, maybe it’s just the character’s name but I think the nature of the movie will be fairly apocalyptic.
It’s about time! They alluded to many of his typical traits so hard in First Class I have half-expected his hair to catch on fire at some point to which he would scream “I can’t feel my hair.” McAvoy is a handsome dude, but if he wants to keep playing this role, it’s time for that hair to come off.
X-Men Apocalypse will be due out in theaters on May 27, 2016.
