Everyone knows how well Marvel has done with their MCU movies, they’re massive hits and have helped make Iron Man and Star Lord household names. While the live-action movies have been big, there hasn’t been too much Marvel animated action on the big-screen. Later this fall however, Sony and Marvel are looking to change that with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which looks to focus heavily on the Miles Morales’ Spider-Man character. Now, it has been revealed by FandomWire that John Krasinski will be joining the cast of Into the Spider-Verse and voicing none other than Peter Parker.
Krasinski has apparently been in the studios recording his voice lines, and has been doing them alongside Tom Hardy, who was recently revealed to be voicing Eddie Brock/ Venom in the film. Parker is supposed to be an older, more mature version of himself, who will take on the role of mentor of sorts to Morales in the movie. Krasinski is best known as Jim from The Office, and is well regarded for his comedic acting skills, but has also had more dramatic roles under his belt. He will easily bring all of this into his performance as Peter Parker, and should make for a great addition to the film.
Little is known about the Chris Lord written project, but things are slowly starting to take shape. Now with Krasinski cast as Parker, Tom Hardy solidifying himself in the public consciousness as Venom in the film, and Liev Schreiber as an unknown villain, it appears that Sony is really looking to make the film a hit. Based on the first trailer, the film has a very slick style to it, and should really stand out on the big screen. Also, with a Christmas release, Sony’s really looking to make the film a massive hit.
