Kickstarter Success For Homebrew Genesis RPG Pier Solar

<p>In development for over six years&comma; <em>Pier Solar and The Great Architects<&sol;em> was a true labour of love&comma; being a new RPG created from the ground-up for the Sega Genesis &sol; Mega Drive&comma; and which saw a very limited release in December 2010 from developer WaterMelon&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Despite its niche appeal&comma; the game received a lot of attention and critical acclaim&comma; and WaterMelon recently started a Kickstarter campaign with the goal of rereleasing the game in HD and on several different platforms &&num;8211&semi; Xbox 360&comma; PC&comma; Mac&comma; Linux and Sega Dreamcast&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The original funding goal was set at &dollar;139&comma;000&comma; but that goal has been smashed&comma; with the campaign having brought in a total of &dollar;231&comma;370 in pledges at the time of its conclusion&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The amount raised has allowed WaterMelon to reach its stretch goals as well&comma; which means that the version of <em>Pier Solar and The Great Architects<&sol;em> which will see release will be a Director&&num;8217&semi;s Cut containing additional content&comma; and that the range of platforms on which the game will appear has been increased to include Android&comma; Ouya&comma; and Wii U&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&lbrack;Via&colon; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;joystiq&period;com&sol;2012&sol;12&sol;05&sol;pier-solar-hd-kickstarter-ends-with-over-230k-in-pledges&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank">Joystiq<&sol;a>&rsqb;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
