Fans of Kid Icarus: Uprising shouldn’t hold their breath for a sequel. Famed creator of Smash Bros. and Kid Icarus: Uprising, Masahiro Sakurai, stated that he is not interested in developing a sequel.

When asked if the game was made with future titles in mind, Sakurai ruled out a second Kid Icarus title right away.

“If by ‘lasting universe’ you mean to ask if there’s a sequel, the answer is no,” he said. “We pushed a lot into the game in order to let people have this short yet deep experience, but the novelty of that would likely grow thin in the next game.”

However, that doesn’t mean that Pitt won’t be staring in his own game again at some point. Sakurai added: “perhaps we’ll see someone else” besides him make another Kid Icarus “in another 25 years.”
