Killing Floor 2 Aiming For ‘Most Advanced Gore System Ever’

Today Tripwire Interactive have revealed they are working on Killing Floor 2 and that it’s going to be the bloodiest game on the market. Announced in this month’s issue of PC Gamer, the development of Killing Floor 2 is great news for fans of the original, which launched back in 2009. Originally just a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004, Tripwire convinced Killing Floor creator Alex Quick to let them turn the mod into a stand alone title. Developed by a group of 10 people in 3 months, the game has since over sold 2.6 million copies.

Because of this success, Killing Floor 2 can be made with a much higher budget, most of which has been spent on gore. Tripwire has invested in motion capture to make sure that melee and range combat look as great as possible, both from a third person and first person perspective. The new gore system is called MEAT (Massive Evisceration and Trauma). Limbs, organs and bits of brain  explode from your enemies with every shot from your rifle and every slash of your sword. Thanks to some new development tricks the blood splatters won’t fade away as they do in other games. Instead the blood and gore will adorn the walls of the map until the game is finished, allowing you to paint the entire town red. Killing Floor 2 also has 95 different death animations for added variety.

No release date has yet been given for the game but Tripwire  has said it will release the game sooner than we expect. For more news about Killing Floor 2, keep checking back with BagoGames.
