Sony’s recently released demo P.T. as it was announced at Gamescom today was released earlier today on the PlayStation Store. Its secret? It’s a new Silent Hill with scares engineered by none other than the men behind Metal Gear and Hellboy.

The PlayStation 4 “interactive teaser” was apparently a means to sneak in the new Silent Hill game that Kojima has long dreamed of making. At the end of the P.T. demo, a character is shown walking through a quiet, foggy city street. That character (the one you see above) is played by The Walking Dead‘s Norman Reedus, who reveals his face only before The names Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro appear onscreen.

One brave soul dared to discover the secret, which you can see a replay of the end of the P.T. demo and the Silent Hills reveal in Twitch streamer SoapyWarpig’s video (title card at 1:16:00).

The game is ominously dubbed Silent Hills, according to a title card backed by Akira Yamaoka’s Silent Hill theme.

P.T. was credited to 7780s Studio, a heretofore unknown game developer. Kojima used a similar ruse when announcing The Phantom Pain by the fictitious Moby Dick Studios, a game later revealed to be Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, so there’s probably more mystery ahead.

What do you think is going on with Silent HILLS? Is another town, another dimension, or just double the scares at play here?
