XSEED are celebrating the five-year anniversary of The Legend of Heroes releasing in North America, so they decided to announce two new games in the series that they are localizing: The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II and the penultimate storyline of Trails in the Sky, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky II is coming this Fall and then the next chapter of the Trails in the Sky series comes out on PC sometime in 2017.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky II takes place a month after the events of the first. The game features a new ARCUS system and Overdrive mode. It also has “new means of transportation both across the land and sky, new allies, new dangers, and a renewed sense of hope as Rean tirelessly works to right the wrongs that have led the country to disarray,” according to the press release. Cross-Save also is coming back for both the Vita and PS3 versions. Your data from the first game can also give you improved stats, more items, and detailed backgrounds on the conversations you had into the new game. Screenshots have accompanied the announcement. The first game is currently out in North America and Europe. If you are interested, check out our review on the game!
Plus, there’s no more waiting for the ending of the Trails in the Sky series. In 2017, fans will finally experience the whole story. More details “will be shared in the coming months,” says XSEED.
Ken Berry, the Executive Vice President of XSEED Games said for the press release, “We are without question committed to our fans, and are absolutely humbled by their overwhelming support. And in return, we promise to do our best to ensure that these two entries in Nihon Falcom’s beloved Trails series receive the same amount of dedication that previous releases have seen.”
Trails in the Sky and Trails in the Sky Second Chapter also are on sale to help celebrate the anniversary. The first game is now 50% off digitally on PlayStation Store and PC, and the Second Chapter is now being sold at 30% off digitally. These deals are occurring until March 18th.
