Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII isn’t out until next year, but that hasn’t stopped Square Enix from releasing the game’s opening cutscene. Not that the opening scene to a game is sacred or anything, but maybe save that until we get closer to the game’s launch? Eh, well, what’s done it done.
The opening scene sees Lightning showing up during the last 13 days before the world ends and later going toe-to-toe with Snow, who doesn’t seem too pleased to see her. How many years have passed since Final Fantasy XIII? It seems like all the main characters from the first game are back in Lightning Returns and have various reactions to…um…Lightning’s return. Sorry, I couldn’t think of another way to put that.
Lightning Returns Final Fantasy XIII has a release date of February 11th for NA and February 14th for Europe.
