My Experience as a Video Game Journalist

<p>I have been working at BagoGames for the past few years and this is my 800th article&excl; So to mark this occasion&comma; I decided to write about my experience as a video game journalist and on some of my memories working on the Bago Team&period; There was never a point in which I decided writing about video games would become a large part of my life&period; To be truthful&semi; it was something I did merely to give my opinion&period; Looking back on what inspired me to write&comma; I can honestly say it was BagoGames itself&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In the beginning&comma; my articles merely stated the facts yet after several months working on the team&comma; I started to want to become a better writer&period; Seeing my co-workers’ articles full of personal and professional opinions gave me the inspiration to work harder and longer on my own articles&period; Writing and reworking through pieces gave me a better sense of what it’s like to be a serious writer&period; Instead of writing strictly news&comma; I began to write reviews and features&period; There have been a few assignments&comma; I wanted to give up on &lpar;my <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;ace-attorney-anime-episode-1-review&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank" rel&equals;"noopener noreferrer">Ace Attorney Anime Review series<&sol;a> is one example&rpar; but the team and website helped me push through the tough spots to finish what I began&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<figure id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;135591" aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-135591" style&equals;"width&colon; 640px" class&equals;"wp-caption aligncenter"><img class&equals;"size-full wp-image-135591" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;cdn&period;bagogames&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2018&sol;02&sol;19170921&sol;Ace-Attorney-anime-1&period;jpg" alt&equals;"" width&equals;"640" height&equals;"960" &sol;><figcaption id&equals;"caption-attachment-135591" class&equals;"wp-caption-text">Ace Attorney Anime<&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>&NewLine;<p>My favorite time of the year in the game industry is the <a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;e3expo&period;com&sol;" target&equals;"&lowbar;blank" rel&equals;"noopener noreferrer">E3<&sol;a> season&period;  I absolutely love watching the presentations and discussing &lpar;plus arguing&rpar; over what is shown&period; It is a time of the year when gamers hold their breath for new release info&period; It’s a moment to savor&comma; to remember when your favorite developers walk onto the stage and speak about what is to come from their company&period; The hope&comma; disappointment&comma; and surprises give way to E3 memories not easily forgotten&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Despite a few long nights&comma; frustrating writing block moments and the occasional argument&comma; I wouldn&&num;8217&semi;t trade my journalist experience for the world&period; I have learned so much over the years and look forward to constantly improving my writing skills&period; Sadly&comma; my free time recently has been restricted due to my day job which leaves me less time to not only play games but also work on my articles&period; Despite this new change&comma; I am determined to continue with one of my dreams of being a video game journalist&period; BagoGames is a part of my life and I want to work harder this next year to help make this the best video game entertainment site on the web&excl;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>If you are considering trying your hand at video game journalism&comma; know this&colon; the hard work is well worth the time&comma; effort&comma; and even tears&period; Video games allow people to take part in something they normally never could before&period; Whether it is jumping off a tall mountain to the reach the lake below&comma; hunting down monsters in a dense jungle&comma; or rescuing the realm’s princess&comma; games let us act out dreams that otherwise wouldn&&num;8217&semi;t come true&period; By writing about these games&comma; I have extended the dreams and carved out a role in the industry for myself&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Thank you to everyone on the BagoGames Team for making my experience as a video game journalist so special&period; And I look forward to more years of working alongside all of you&excl;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
