A live-action short film gives anticipating players a glimpse of the Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’s world that is filled with war and destruction.

The short film titled “The Mechanical Apartheid”, is set in the future 2027. The people of the world are mechanically-augmented and are losing control over their own actions while suffering from delusions which cause them to attack people. Millions of people are dying while thousands are injured or permanently maimed. Society itself is giving in to fear, which leads to hatred. Now these countries are creating and acting upon their extreme laws to bring some order to their world.

Segregation of the augmented people from the rest of humanity is a desirable decision by those who bore witness to loved ones dying at the hands of the augmented. Someone has hacked into the program to cause mass bloodshed. This live-action trailer for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided reveals the panic that ensues from the crimes of the augmented humans who lost control, and the distrust of all those who bear a mechanically-augmented body.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be released on August 23rd for the PlayStation 4, PC (Windows Only) and Xbox One. This action-role-playing FPS is developed by Eidos Montreal and published by Square Enix.
