Mad Max Will Release Alongside Big Boss This Fall

Warner Bros. Pictures’ road warrior is gunning his engine for the big screen this May with Tom Hardy behind the wheel, but his small-screen version is still slated for this year, complements of Warner and Avalanche Studios.

Simply titled, Mad Max, Avalanche’s open-world, post-apocalyptic game has been teased for some time since last year’s E3 and it’s been mum’s the word since.

Game Informer’s April cover has since revealed that the game will release this Sep. 1st alongside Konami’s Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. According to Game Informer, the game’s last-gen versions on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 have been canceled similarly to what we’ve seen from Dying Light this year – though MGS V‘s last-gen versions are still a go as far as we know.

Mad Max will now release only for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and Windows for PC. This year’s George Miller-directed Mad Max: Fury Road, meanwhile, will be releasing this May 15th in theaters as an unrelated reboot to Miller’s original Mel Gibson-led movie.

Whatever the two have in store, it’s safe to assume that wrecked cars and broken bones are involved. Check out both Mad Maxes’ trailers below.
