The spin-off anime of Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, Magi: The Adventure of Sinbad, premiere date has finally been announced and will air this Spring.
Magi: Adventure of Sinbad or Magi: Sinbad no Bouken in Japanese, will begin to air in Japan on April 15 on several TV stations. The Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic manga was first published in 2009 and originally written and illustrated by Shinobu Ohtaka. The Adventure of Sinbad was written by Ohtaka and illustrated by Yoshifumi Ohtera and first published in 2013. According to Crunchyroll, “Daisuke Ono, who voiced the title character in the OAD series, will return for the TV anime”.
The world of Magi somewhat resembles our own ancient world with various countries resembling those from history. There are magical castles called dungeons that posses treasures, traps and a Jin. Those brave enough to venture into the Dungeon and survive the presented trails will earn the loyalty of the castle’s Jin and be able to use the Jin’s power and gain a powerful object for themselves and for their comrades. With this alternate world of magic infused objects and users, things do not always go as planned for the characters. The Adventure of Sinbad anime will take place 30 years before The Labyrinth of Magic and will reveal just how Sinbad became the king.
