A spokesperson for Electronic Arts has announced that the recently published claim regarding the release date of Mass Effect 4 is false.

Gamer Syndrome published an interview with an unnamed BioWare developer in which the dev stated that the fourth game in the Mass Effect series would see release in late 2014 to mid-2015. Soon afterwards, EA apparently issued a follow-up statement to Eurogamer confirming that the interview had been given by a BioWare employee.

Now, however, EA has told G4 that neither it nor BioWare has provided “any answers to questions from Gamer Syndrome.”

Gamer Syndrome has since removed the interview and issued the following apology: “The information provided previously by the author of this post was deemed to be obtained from an inaccurate source and NOT an official Bioware or EA interview response. We apologize for the inconvenience and the matter is being dealt with severely.”
