Today WG Labs announced in a press release that the reboot of the popular 4X strategy game Master of Orion for the PC will be getting a digital Collectors’ Edition.
WG Labs says that this bundle will include “…the first three legendary Master of Orion titles, a beautifully detailed digital art book, modernized orchestral soundtrack, special retro art style graphic motif, and an exclusive new race only available in the Collector’s Edition: the Terran Khanate. Players will also be granted Early Access—when available—so they can begin their quest for galactic supremacy ahead of other explorers.”
WG Labs also explains that the retro motif can be applied to replace the modern looks of the spaceships, making them look more like their counterparts from the original game. The Terran Khanate race is described as a more “warlike bent” aggressive version of the Human Federation.
The Master of Orion reboot was officially announced back in June. The series is known for it’s deep 4X (“eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate”) gameplay that lets players win through not only warfare, but also diplomacy, or resource domination.
Master of Orion has no release date as of yet.
