Metal Gear Survive Announced, Will Exist in MGSV Universe

<p><amp-youtube layout&equals;"responsive" width&equals;"500" height&equals;"281" data-videoid&equals;"X3hjRKGrC40" title&equals;"Metal Gear Survive Official Trailer - Gamescom 2016"><a placeholder href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;youtube&period;com&sol;watch&quest;v&equals;X3hjRKGrC40"><img src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;i&period;ytimg&period;com&sol;vi&sol;X3hjRKGrC40&sol;hqdefault&period;jpg" layout&equals;"fill" object-fit&equals;"cover" alt&equals;"Metal Gear Survive Official Trailer - Gamescom 2016"><&sol;a><&sol;amp-youtube><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>It didn&&num;8217&semi;t take too long for Konami to finally announce a <em>Metal Gear <&sol;em>game after the departure of series creator&comma; Hideo Kojima&comma; that <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;kotaku&period;com&sol;dammit-konami-a-metal-gear-pachinko-game-is-really-hap-1780047257">isn&&num;8217&semi;t a Pachinko machine<&sol;a>&period; <em>Metal Gear Survive <&sol;em>&lpar;which conveniently has the acronym &&num;8220&semi;MGS&&num;8221&semi;&rpar;&comma; is a four-player stealth game that has players working together to fight off zombies&period; The game will take place soon after the events of <em>Metal Gear Solid V&colon; Ground Zeroes<&sol;em>&period; It is set to be released on PS4&comma; Xbox One and PC in 2017&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The soldiers of the Militaires Sans Frontières that were not killed at the end of <em>Ground Zeroes <&sol;em>will be transported to another dimension by way of a wormhole&period; So yes&comma; technically you are a time-travelling zombie killer&period; There is a dedicated <em>Metal Gear Online <&sol;em>community out there&comma; so it isn&&num;8217&semi;t too surprising to see Konami try to tackle a multiplayer off-shoot before possibly heading in the direction of new stories in the universe&period; The connection to the series seems fairly light&comma; due to its alternate dimension angle&period; This is probably good news for the <em>Metal Gear <&sol;em>purists out there&comma; but maybe it&&num;8217&semi;s better to just rip the band-aid off quickly&quest;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The game is set to offer a &&num;8220&semi;fresh take&&num;8221&semi; on the stealth that fans of the series have enjoyed&comma; according to Konami&&num;8217&semi;s European president&comma; Tomotada Tashiro&period; No details were really given as to what that entails&period; The ending of the trailer above does heavily imply that a Metal Gear will also be present along with the zombie infestation&period; So there&&num;8217&semi;s at least that for a tie-in&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Unfortunately&comma; very little about this feels like a <em>Metal Gear <&sol;em>title&period; The trailer is pretty light on anything to pinpoint&comma; but that&&num;8217&semi;s also kind of the reason I&&num;8217&semi;m extremely skeptical&period; <em>Metal Gear <&sol;em>trailers have always been stuffed with weirdness&comma; and this only has two weird moments&colon; zombies and wormholes&period; I will check out the game when it comes out&comma; but <em>Metal Gear Survive <&sol;em>doesn&&num;8217&semi;t currently have any hooks in me yet&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Let us know what you think of the game in the comments below&excl;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Source&colon; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;ca&period;ign&period;com&sol;articles&sol;2016&sol;08&sol;17&sol;gamescom-2016-konami-announces-metal-gear-survive">IGN<&sol;a><&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;
