SNK Playmore USA has announced the worldwide release of classic 2D side-scrolling shooter Metal Slug for iOS and Android devices. Originally released in 1996, the chaotic, explosion-filled game was successful enough to spawn a number of sequels and is still considered a favourite by many old-school action game fans.
Scheduled for release on 13th December at a price of $3.99, the game features an “arcade-perfect” port, weapon upgrades and bonuses, customisable controls, Bluetooth-enabled multiplayer, and online rankings.
SNK Playmore USA also stated their intention to release sequels Metal Slug 2 and Metal Slug X “in the near future.”
