Wii U owners will get the chance to relive the story of the original Metroid when the GameBoy Advance remake finally makes its way to the North American Virtual Console for the Wii U. Designed to be more like Super Metroid in gameplay, Metroid: Zero Mission retells Samus’s visit to the planet Zebes with a few extra features not present in the original game. The Virtual Console version will retail at $7.99. Below is a summary, provided by Nintendo, for the title:
Space bounty hunter Samus Aran is sent on a lone mission to infiltrate the fortified planet of Zebes. Traverse through the mazelike base of operations for the Space Pirates, gaining access to powerful upgrades and items for your weapons and suit. Locate Mother Brain, and put a stop to the replication of Metroids!
Metroid: Zero Mission has already been available on the Virtual Console for European and Japanese audiences, but it is finally going to be made available on the Virtual Console in North America on January 14th, 2016.
