MGSV Mini-Doc Released By Series Creator Hideo Kojima

MGSV

Metal Gear Solid series creator Hideo Kojima has – alongside publisher Konami – released a short, 10 minute mini-doc about the newest MGS Title; Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain.

The scant 10 minute video affords fans a brief look at Kojima’s drives and motivations to complete MGSV.

The video also offers an intriguing look on the inside of the developmental process from the viewpoints of the voice actors, developers and various other roles working on MGSV.

The mini-doc also takes an emotional turn as Kojima visits the family of Sean Paul Gillespie, who died after a lengthy battle with cancer on February 8th 2015. Gillespie – evidently a huge fan of the series – sent an Email to the team working on Metal Gear.

Moved by this heartfelt message, Kojima “shared Sean’s message with the team, and it motivated everyone to complete the game.”

Due to various problems and controversies that arose during the development of MGSV – making it a drama-laden affair for Kojima – fans may interpret this as Kojima’s swan-song to his beloved series.

Regardless of this documentary’s intent, with meaningful statements like “The players are everything,” and “Without them, nothing I do would matter..” it’s clear that both the series and the fans of it mean just as much to the creator as he means to them.
