Revealing an impressive worldwide figure, Microsoft yesterday revealed that the Xbox 360 console has now shipped (not homed) more than 80 million units across the world.

This impressive figure comes just a few months before both Microsoft and rival Sony are due to release their next-generation video game consoles, the Xbox One and PS4 systems, which are both due this holiday season and promise to transform the industry in ways that we have never experienced before.

Notably, there has been some issues with delays on some key titles that were due to launch with the next-generation consoles this week but lets hope that this doesn’t impact on the excitement!
