When Minecraft, in all its block-building glory, was released for the 360 it came with the option of playing split-screen, much to the delight of many a gamer. However, it turned out that the only way to actually play it was with a HD TV which not everyone on the planet owns. This particular detail was left out of Microsoft’s initial description of the game on the Xbox marketplace. Needless to say, some gamers were none too pleased when discovering this after having purchased the title and found themselves unable to play split-screen. Microsoft has now rectified this by updating information to include the HD requirement.

Microsoft will now also be offering refunds to affected gamers who bought the game prior to the announcement of the need for a HD TV in order to play. Gamers will have to contact Microsoft’s customer services in order to obtain this refund.
