As the battle with Sony and Nintendo heats up, Microsoft is looking to rapidly expand their first party capabilities. Today the company announced that they are hiring for a whole host of new development teams. One of the new studios is LXP (Leap Experience Pioneers) which was leaked some time ago. They are rumoured to be working on a Kinect title. The other development teams announced are SOTA (State of the Art), [Fun]ction, NP, and Platform Next. Kinect based studio Good Science is also hiring.

So far there isn’t much information about these new teams. Are they making indie titles or AAA blockbusters? Will they be working on new IP or existing franchises? Are they all Xbox One Studios or will some be making games for PC? We simply don’t know. The only clue we have is that LXP are reportedly looking for ”an experienced creative individual who can help us bring Microsoft’s next big IP to life.”

We’ll bring you more information about Microsoft’s new studios once it is announced.
