Microsoft Working on New Region Switching Method for Xbox Live

I’ve never had to go through the process of changing which part of the world I live in over Xbox Live, but I’ve heard that it’s way more trouble than it should be. However, it appears that the process is being made easier by Microsoft, who is working on a new way to go about doing it, according to Neowin.

The new service that’s currently being worked on allows for account migration once every three months. The essentials –Achievements, Gamer Tag, Gold Subscription and MS Points– make the trip, but other content that can only be found in certain regions may not. Xbox Music is also another casualty, but maybe that can be worked out before it releases.

Neowin reports that early, uh, reports are good and the new process is definitely easier and quicker. As for when we can see this new service? Well, Microsoft told IGN that they’re aiming for a mid-January launch. Presumably the January that we’re currently living in.
