Nintendo has announced their plan to launch their mobile app titled Miitomo this March. Originally revealed in October, Miitomo is a free-to-play title predicated on interactivity between users. The app will encourage socializing from players who are typically shy about multiplayer and social interaction. It will incorporate players’ Miis as their avatars for the game.
The app will have users answering questions, as well. Some of these are are normal, run-of-the-mill questions while others are a bit more ridiculous in nature. There will also be a Miifoto feature in Miitomo that will encourage players to take pictures with their Miis and share those photos with friends.
Miitomo is going to be released in conjunction with the new account system: My Nintendo. Starting on February 17th, players may preregister for Miitomo by creating an account with Nintendo. Those who do so before the launch in March will receive a special bonus! Players who preregister will also be one of the first to be notified when the mobile title becomes available in March.
Nintendo is also planning on releasing four other mobile apps (aside from Miitomo) before March 2017. The new rewards program that is replacing Club Nintendo is My Nintendo which will also be a more interactive experience. More information regarding My Nintendo and the Miitomo app will be revealed before the app’s launch.
