Is Miitomo Delayed for the US?

Miitomo

It seems that the internet has been abuzz with rumors of Nintendo’s next move, but the fact that Miitomo hasn’t been given a release date for the US is a bit disappointing to those who pre-registered.

Miitomo is an app with the intention of sparking conversations between friends by asking questions and revealing answers such as “What is your favorite food?” or “Do you believe in aliens?”. The app will also have users create a Mii, just like the ones found on the Wii, Wii U and 3DS and earn/ pay for coins to purchase outfits. The Miis can be added to photos and even visit each other. The idea seems to be to create a bridge between Nintendo’s home & handheld consoles and mobiles.

Originally when the Miitomo website launched this winter, there was a speech bubble containing the words “Launching March 2016”. Now that bubble has been removed and there is no word from Nintendo as to when the app will launch outside of Japan. Currently, the app is successful in Japan. According to a report from Forbes, “Nintendo ’s first mobile app Miitomo has not only been a huge success by reaching the top of the iOS charts since its release but it has also amassed over 1 million users in just three days”. With the anticipation of Nintendo’s first mobile app and the false rumor of the NX prototype, the air is thickening with questions as to what Nintendo’s future plans are. We most likely won’t hear Nintendo give information on the NX until E3 this June but the Miitomo launch date should have been given by now since March is almost over. It appears that the app could be available much later.

We will be covering Miitomo news as it is announced so visit us again to keep up to date with the latest game news and more!
