Over a million PS3 and Vita users have gone on a Jetpack Joyride

Halfbrick Studios has announced that free-to-play game Jetpack Joyride has been downloaded to over one million accounts across PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in 2013.

Developed by Australia-based Halfbrick Studios, creator of the successful Fruit Ninja franchise, Jetpack Joyride began life in May 2012 as a Facebook game but was later released on other devices, including the PS3 and PS Vita in December of last year.

The announcement of over one million downloads across PS3 and PS Vita comes soon after the release of a new update for the PS Vita version, one which according to a press release, adds “Twitter support, performance upgrades and a host of user customization options to improve upon the already winning formula.”

Speaking of the announcement, Phil Larsen, Halfbrick’s Chief Marketing Officer, said, “It’s been another incredible month for Jetpack Joyride. Player support has been sensational, proving without a doubt that Barry Steakfries is a perfect match for the PS3 and Vita!”

“We want to extend a massive thanks to the dedicated team at Big Ant for bringing Jetpack Joyride to Sony’s passionate and thriving online community,” Larsen added. “Our amazing fans continue to exceed expectations, paving the way for more exciting releases further down the line.”
