Over Two Million Registered Players for Still-in-Beta Path of Exile

<p>Grinding Gear Games has announced that its upcoming online action RPG <em>Path of Exile<&sol;em> has recently passed the two million registered players mark&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Set in the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast&comma;<em> Path of Exile<&sol;em> is a free-to-play PC title which Grinding Gear Games has claimed is not an example of &&num;8220&semi;pay-to-win&&num;8221&semi;&comma; the game instead featuring apparently &&num;8220&semi;ethical&&num;8221&semi; micro-transactions&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>Path of Exile<&sol;em> has already accumulated over two million registered players despite not being scheduled for a full release until September&comma; the game currently in its Open Beta phase&comma; which began earlier this year on 23rd January&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>&&num;8220&semi;We&&num;8217&semi;re really pleased with <em>Path of Exile<&sol;em>&&num;8216&semi;s reception&comma;&&num;8221&semi; said Chris Wilson&comma; producer for Grinding Gear Games&comma; in a press release&period; &&num;8220&semi;It blew our expectations out of the water and continues to grow every day&period; The continued feedback and support from our fans has been great&period; We expect to add a lot of new content and features during the Open Beta period as we approach full release later this year&period;&&num;8221&semi;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
