Square Enix has announced the release of Mini Ninjas for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Rather than being a port of the original 2009 release, Mini Ninjas for iOS mobile devices is actually an endless runner game featuring characters and certain gameplay elements lifted from the original game.

A press release states that Mini Ninjas offers “an extensive range of customisation features, achievements and unlockable content available to users in the Dojo, your game hub,” along with a range of power-ups, equipment, collectables, and outfits “to earn and purchase.”

Mini Ninjas is available via the App Store and is priced at £0.69 / €0.79 / $0.99. To celebrate the game’s launch, Square Enix is offering discounts on a number of its existing games in the App Store, including titles such as Lara Croft: Guardian of Light, Championship Manager 2011, and Mensa Academy.
