Capcom posted a brand-new trailer for Monster Hunter Generations that depicts the new hunting style mechanics.
Generations will allow hunters to choose 4 Hunting Styles in addition to a weapon before embarking on a hunt. The newly released trailer depicts the Hunting Styles which can work to the player’s advantage in battle.
The Aerial Style – “Death from Above”- is usable by each weapon class and gives the hunter an opportunity to do a short jump to attack or evade from the monster. This style will also give hunters the move needed to mount a monster by using their weapon.
The Adept Style – “Deft Punisher” – gives hunters Insta-Moves that have to be exactly times. This style changes depending upon your weapon class.
Guild Style – “Well-honed Tradition” – will test your weapon choice. This appeared in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
Striker Style – “Versatile Powerhouse” – uses the new Hunter Arts mechanic. Eventually you can learn to use tools like the Hunters’ Oasis which is a fountain that will heal you and your party (as long as they are near the fountain) much like the Lifepowder item. The Hunter Arts can also be used to deal damage by giving a hunter abilities specific to their weapon-type.
