Pre-release weekends are events that allow Magic: the Gathering players to play with cards before they are released. The final set of the Theros block, Journey Into Nyx, will be officially released in physical form on May 2, 2014. Magic Online pre-release events are taking place on May 9-12, 2014 and the Magic Online: Journey Into Nyx release date is May 12, 2014. Here is part of the Journey Into Nyx story: the gods of Theros are meddling in the lives of mortals and it is time they rise against the divines to take back their freedom. The planeswalker, Xenagos, has become a god which makes the divine gods furious and take their anger out on the mortals. Only Elspeth, Heliod, the God of the Sun’s chosen champion, knows how to obtain the knowledge to destroy Xenagos and restore peace between the gods and mortals.
