Natsume, the developer and publisher behind numerous Harvest Moon games and many others, has announced it will be publishing RPG Mystic Chronicles on the PlayStation Portable in North America in summer 2013.

Already available in Japan and developed by Kemco, Mystic Chronicles is a retro-style RPG containing numerous quests, a turn-based battle system, and a Guardian Beast system which allows players to assign powerful beasts to their characters. Players can also set each beast’s AI to suit their own preferred play style.

“With the huge resurgence in popularity of retro-style gameplay and graphics, especially in the RPG genre, now is the perfect time to bring this fantastic game to North American PSP owners,” said Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO at Natsume, in a press release. “We’re excited about our latest offering, and will continue to reveal details about this exciting RPG as we get closer to launch.”
