NBC Takes Another Whack at The IT Crowd

<p>It seems that <strong>NBC<&sol;strong> is willing to give an American version of <strong><em>The IT Crowd<&sol;em><&sol;strong> another go&period; The cult British hit centered around two awkward IT men and their ineffective female manager originally had an American pilot produced back in 2007&period; Despite the best efforts of <strong>Joel McHale<&sol;strong> as Roy and <strong>Richard Ayoade<&sol;strong> reprising his role as Moss&comma; the pilot was never picked up&period; There are numerous reasons&comma; but one can&&num;8217&semi;t help but feel it had something to do with the pilot being way too close to the original script of the first UK episode&period; It was&comma; after all&comma; the same reason the German version was such a dud&period; But NBC is willing to put that mishap behind them as they proceed with a new pilot developed by <strong><em>Scrubs<&sol;em> <&sol;strong>writers <strong>Bill Lawrence<&sol;strong>&comma; <strong>Neil Goldman<&sol;strong> and <strong>Garrett Donovan<&sol;strong>&period; One hopes that they&&num;8217&semi;ll at least be able to generate some new material into this second take rather than just copying the same scripts from the UK version&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Source&colon; <a href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;deadline&period;com&sol;2014&sol;10&sol;it-crowd-remake-bill-lawrence-pilot-nbc-853163&sol;">Deadline<&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;
