Necropolis – PAX East 2015 Hands On

<p>Immediately upon entering the Necroplois booth&comma; it was explained to us the game could be classified as &&num;8220&semi;Dark Souls lite meets Spelunky&&num;8221&semi;&period; Quite the mixture of styles but after seeing the game in-action&comma; it made complete sense&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Necropolis is a &&num;8220&semi;diabolical dungeon delve&&num;8221&semi; with a geometrical minimalistic art style&period; Visually the game is played in the third person with a timing-based combat system which can be likened to Dark Souls&period; Adventurers come to seek treasures in Necropolis&comma; all the while working their way to the bottom&comma; where the exit lies&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2015&sol;03&sol;necropolis03&lowbar;bagogames&period;jpg"><img class&equals;"aligncenter size-large wp-image-79112" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;bagogames&period;com&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2015&sol;03&sol;necropolis03&lowbar;bagogames-1024x576&period;jpg" alt&equals;"necropolis03&lowbar;bagogames" width&equals;"620" height&equals;"349" &sol;><&sol;a><br &sol;>&NewLine;Like many indie games being released today&comma; Necropolis is procedurally-generated&period; The Brazen Head controls the dungeon and can alter it&&num;8217&semi;s configuration at its whim&period; The game is a deathtrap and its visitors feed the dungeon&period; You will need to defeat many enemies and monsters along the way&period; Loot their weapons&comma; find spells&comma; and upgrade your character to become the next adventurer to escape&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Necropolis is currently being developed by Harebrained Schemes&period; Their inital plan is to release the game on PC&comma; Mac&comma; and Linux and maybe bring the game to consoles as well&period; Although they wouldn&&num;8217&semi;t committ to multiplayer&comma; they are intriqued with the multiplayer in such games as Journey and Don&&num;8217&semi;t Starve Together&period; They could see the game&&num;8217&semi;s single player experience being enhanced by the social elements&period; At this stage&comma; Necropolis seems to be on the right path and should appeal greatly to those looking for a challenging but rewarding combat experience in an ever-changing world&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
