Unless you’ve been turning a blind eye to what’s been going on in the film industry, you are likely very aware about Harvey Weinstein and the series of sexual assault, rape, and harassment claims laid against him. This has led to about two weeks of women and men coming out and revealing the sexual harassment that is almost systemic to Hollywood. San Diego sexual harassment lawyers are representing them. It’s a widespread problem in the industry and now people have amassed the courage to stand up and fight those who are ruining people’s lives. Well, the gaming industry might soon start its own cleansing of predators, and it’s starting with Tyler Malka (aka Evilore) – owner of NeoGAF.

NeoGAF went dark for a little while after sexual assault allegations were released against Malka (see: above) and several mods created “suicide threads” asking to be permabanned from the popular gaming forum. Malka has been associated with despicable acts in the past, and NeoGAF itself has never been set to a high standard. Cliff Bleszinski tweeted about the stigma NeoGAF has had with developers he’s known. It’s nothing new for Malka or NeoGAF to be implicated in shady situations, but now is the time when everything seems to be hitting the fan.
These sexual assault allegations come not far from the Naughty Dog allegations (which, in my opinion, were handled extremely poorly by Naughty Dog and Sony), which came soon after the Weinstein accusations and the rest of Hollywood’s revelations of sexual abuse within the industry. Right now, Malka has not released a statement yet, but is allegedly preparing one. We’ll see if he steps down or admits anything, but it’s clear that NeoGAF is in a state of disarray. As of the time of this writing, I have only been able to get on the site once since it went down, and most of the front page is new threads that are either asking to be banned, wondering where to move discussions, or are ignoring what’s happening and no one is engaging with them.
For now, I just want to say on behalf of the staff of BagoGames that we stand beside anyone who has been mistreated in any way, shape or form. Victims of sexual abuse may seek help from this sexual assault attorney. We cannot begin to understand the pain, but we hope to help make the gaming industry a safer place.
