Neon Brings Arcade Nostalgia to Steam and VR with Official Launch

<p>The arcade shoot-em-up genre of yesteryear has made its way to Virtual Reality and Steam&period; <em>Neon<&sol;em> is a &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;non-violent arcade-style shoot-em-up” for the HTC Vive&comma; Oculus Rift&comma; and Windows Mixed Reality VR platforms&comma; and releases today on Steam&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The premise of the game is simple –<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>To pay off your life debts you’ve been uploaded to one of the millions of nano-workbots in the sun’s core to prevent solar flares by breaking down neon isotopes&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In full VR&comma; you will control an ion cannon in a 360-degree environment affected by gravity&comma; shooting positive and negative ions at neon isotopes to eliminate them&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>Neon<&sol;em> was created to feel like an 80’s arcade shooter in full VR&comma; with vector polygonal lines and surfaces illuminated by pulsating neon lighting with immersive 360-degree action&period; Each of the 42 levels was also created to require a different solution to achieving the best times&period; The difficulty slowly ramps up as you play&comma; making it easier for beginner VR users to get a feel for it&comma; while also providing a challenge for VR veterans&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The levels also change over time to add elements such as stronger gravity&comma; different isotopes &lpar;with different charges associated with them&rpar; and boss levels that require unique strategies to succeed&period; Like in the arcade classics&comma; Neon provides power-ups like slow-mo and shockwave to add to the crazy fun&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Check out the trailer above for <em>Neon<&sol;em>&comma; and go take a look at the Steam Store page if you’re interested in some nostalgia-driven VR action&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><strong>Source&colon; Galactig Press Release&period; <&sol;strong><&sol;p>&NewLine;
