You better have a grain of salt (or two) in hand: Netflix is supposedly making a live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda game series. Yes, that’s right. The same series that so famously generated the universally-panned 1987 series of the same name may, in fact, be returning to television – or streaming, if the Wall Street Journal can be believed.
According to the WSJ’s original report, a source “familiar with the matter” claims that the series is being aimed as a Game of Thrones for a “family friendly audience” by Netflix. In this report, Nintendo is going to be working closely with the streaming service to maintain its light-hearted, kid-friendly tone all while instilling the wonder we know to be Link’s fantasy land of Hyrule.
Speaking of the series’ frequently silent protagonist, it’s not known exactly who will be portraying Link – or voicing him, for that matter. There’s yet to be a cast listing for the series, or a writer, for that matter. While the series remains in the very, very earliest stage of pre-production, we have yet to see whether it’ll be ingloriously canned before it can get off the ground.
For those who love to watch TV outdoors, using a high-quality outdoor tv swivel mount can undoubtedly ensure a great fit and safer installation than any indoor mount.
Neither Netflix nor Nintendo have given any confirmation on the series’ status just yet, but we’ll bring you word when there is.
