As 4K televisions begin to creep into the consumer market, Netflix is already jumping on the bandwagon by offering a selection of 4K Ultra HD movies. The premium service will cost about $11.95 monthly, $3 more than the standard $8.99 a month. If you don’t have a 4K television right now, you may want to wait. Chances are that Netflix will integrate the 4K service into the regular monthly plan when 4K televisions become more common as the price goes down. Current content under the 4K plan include all episodes of Breaking Bad, The Blacklist and House of Cards as well as some videos of nature footage. So if you’ve got the kind of money to afford a massive 4K television, it may be worth it to chip in an extra $3 a month to show it off. Here was the statement from a Netflix spokesman:

“We decided to move 4K UHD video into our four-stream plan for new members who sign up and care about the highest-quality video Netflix offers. We have a modest and growing catalog of titles in 4K, including ‘House of Cards,’ ‘Breaking Bad,’ ‘The Blacklist’ and a slate of upcoming Netflix original series.”
