Bayonetta 1 and 2 are hitting the Nintendo Switch in a big way in a little over a week, and the hype surrounding the games is continuing to increase. Many gamers have fond memories of the first game from the last generation of gaming, and some may have even had the chance to play Bayonetta 2 on the Wii U. Now both games are about to be released and Nintendo and Platinum Games have released a new trailer highlighting some of the additions to the umbra witches rereleases.

<amp-youtube layout="responsive" width="500" height="281" data-videoid="nBWNGwJpWko" title="Bayonetta &; Bayonetta 2 - Overview Trailer (Nintendo Switch)"></amp-youtube>

One of the coolest features that were shown off was the use of Amiibos in the game, which unlock costumes for Bayonetta to wear. The trailer displays using the Samus Amiibo to outfit Bayonetta in a Samus inspired set of armor, as well as displaying the Fox McCloud Amiibo giving her an adorable StarFox outfit with fuzzy fox ears included. Those were the only 2 shown, so we will have to see if there are other Amiibo that can be scanned, and it is unclear what the actual Bayonetta Amiibo unlocks in the game.

The trailer also shows off touchscreen controls, which likely work as they did on the Wii U, where you can swipe and attack enemies using the touchscreen, and should be a decent way to play for those that may not be hack and slash pros. The biggest feature is Tag Climax Mode, where two players can take on levels and bosses in co-op bouts of pure action madness.

The Bayonetta games are often regarded as some of the finest action games made in recent years, and they show Platinum Games’ skill and style at their finest. The release of Bayonetta 1 and 2 on the Switch should also appease players until the third game hits, most likely next year sometime. Are you adding the Bayonetta games to your Switch library? Are you a fan of the series? Let us know in the comments below!
