A new live action film is in the works for the Death Note franchise.
The upcoming 2016 movie will be a sequel to the two previous Death Note 2006 films. Shinsuke Sato, who also directed the Library Wars and Gantz live action films, will be directing the new Death Note film. Otaku USA says the film “will star characters who ‘inherited the DNA of Light and L’ who are set to battle over the six Death Notes in the world. The plot will also involve cyber-terrorism”.
