<p>Akira Toriyama has announced (via <a href="http://www.famitsu.com/news/201504/28077773.html">Famitsu</a> and <a href="http://kotaku.com/dragon-ball-is-getting-its-first-new-tv-anime-in-18-yea-1700616322" target="_blank">Kotaku</a>) that there will be a new <em>Dragon Ball</em> series releasing in July this year.</p>
<p>The new series will be called <em>Dragon Ball Super</em> and it will take place after Goku defeated Kid Buu. <em>Dragon Ball</em> fans will be pleased to know that Akira Toriyama, the original writer of previous <em>Dragon Ball</em> series, is writing the new one.</p>
<p>Since the release of the last series, <em>Dragon Ball GT</em> in 1997, <em>Dragon Ball</em> has spawned multiple video games, animated features, and a live action movie.</p>
<p><em>Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F</em> is scheduled for release in North American theatres this summer.</p>
